Outersloth: Our New Indie Game Fund!
Hey Sloth fans! (Or Sloth haters…???)
It’s no secret the games industry has been through a lot of turmoil with layoffs and a lack of funding. Innersloth is incredibly lucky to have been able to find success and stay truly independent: no investors, no publishers, no acquisitions. This, of course, is all thanks to you for supporting us!!!
Sharing our success and seeing more indies games become sustainable is incredibly important to the team, which is why we made Outersloth, our indie game fund!
Some devs don’t really get the chance they deserve, so we thought maybe we could help out a little bit. We made this indie game fund to offers deals we would’ve wanted to have back in our less popular Amongie days. This is our way of saying thank you to our Crewmates, players, and peers – by helping some games and devs have the funding and freedom needed to ship their games. And then we all get to play them. Which was maybe our real plan. Shh.
As seen at this year’s Summer Game’s Fest, 8 titles are currently under our funding arm:
- Battle Suit Aces, Trinket Studio – From the creators of Battlechef Brigade, lead a plucky crew to turn the tide against a star-consuming threat. Recruit ace pilots, upgrade their mecha Battle Suits, and captain your own epic tale in this card-battling RPG.
- Project Dosa, Outerloop Studio – From the creators of Thirsty Suitors, discover and cook new dosa recipes, help the locals, and fight off enemies in your mech to reunite with your loved ones.
- Mars First Logistics, Shape Shop – Build physically simulated rovers and transport awkwardly shaped cargo across the surface of Mars.
- Mossfield Archives, Studio Any Percent – A relaxing and beautiful game about exploring and building connections.
- ONE BTN BOSSES, Midnight Munchies – It’s in the name. You have one button. There are big bosses to beat. Push, tap, and bash to beat them. Upgrade your ship, change your playstyle, and do it all over again!
- Rogue Eclipse, HUSKRAFTS – A thrilling spaceflight action game inspired by Arabesque Futurism.
New games by Visai Games (Venba) and Strange Scaffold (El Paso, Elsewhere) have also been funded, but have yet to be revealed.
Outersloth is our passion project and dream for a better, more sustainable industry. We don’t want to have credit, authority, or claims over a game or company – we just want to good games to get made.
For more information on any of the games listed, visit the Outersloth website.
